Production Workshop with Adis Đapo

One of the 20 most promising young European producers in 2016 by the EFP networking platform Producers on the move, Adis Đapo joined us in the Fall Semester for a one-week production workshop.

Following the shooting wrap of film Tabia by Igor Drljača, which won the Eurimages Development Co-production Award at CineMart in Rotterdam and the 2014 CineLink Excellence Award in Sarajevo, its producer Adis Đapo joined SFA students and discussed no budget, low budget, and high budget productions. He shared his experiences and approaches in film production under vastly differing circumstances, as well as the development of a successful director-producer relationship.

Adis Đapo started working in film at age 18 as a junior producer and production manager at SCCA / Pro.ba in Sarajevo. His filmography includes the region’s most awarded and acclaimed titles such as Children of Sarajevo (2012), which won the Special Distinction of the Jury at Cannes Film Festival's Un Certain Regard. Adis works repeatedly with Oscar winning director Danis Tanović, with his credits including Tanovic's Circus Columbia (2010), An Episode in the Life of an Iron Picker (2013), which won the Jury Grand Prix and the Silver Bear for Best Actor at Berlinale, and Death in Sarajevo (2016), Berlinale Silver Bear Winner. In 2016, European Film Promotion (EFP) and its members have selected Adis Đapo as one of the 20 most promising young European producers in the EFP networking platform Producers on the move at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival. Đapo is a member of the European Film Academy.
