University SSST ranked by QS in the top 600 in the world
Sarajevo Film Academy is proud to share the success of our University. On Wednesday, 6th June 2018, the news was released that the University Sarajevo School of Science and Technology (University SSST) was ranked as one of the top 600 universities in the world and the best ranked university in the South-East European region (Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Albania, Kosovo, Serbia, Macedonia, Romania and Bulgaria) on the QS World University Ranking list for the upcoming 2019 year. University SSST was on the 571st place while others, like University of Ljubljana was ranked as 651st and University of Zagreb and University of Belgrade shared the 801st position.
QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) is a leading global higher education company, with over 250 employees across 5 continents speaking over 25 languages. QS is best known for publishing the QS World University Rankings – one of the world’s most acknowledged university ranking systems. According to a recent article by the Guardian, QS is the only international ranking to have received International Ranking Expert Group (IREG) approval, the QS ranking is also viewed as one of the top three most widely read university ranking in the world, along with Academic Ranking of World universities and Times Higher Education World University Ranking.
The QS rankings methodology is comprised of strong indicators and weightings such as Academic Reputation (40%), Employer reputation (10%), faculty student ratio (20%), citation per faculty (20%), international faculty (5%), and international students (5%). For this year’s edition, over 1.2 million academic nominations were taken into consideration, and nearly 200 thousand employer nominations. Furthermore, QS has evaluated 4,763 institutions from 151 countries through their rich survey and analysis datasets.
