From an idea to the materialized concept; what is the meaning of design and what is its purpose? The workshop also looks back at the history of the film medium, and ahead towards new formats and technologies. Students will acquire basic knowledge on 2D and 3D modeling and its implementation in film, as well as the basics of mechanical and digital special effects in film. Sign-up required.

Bojan Hadžihalilović is the Head of Graphic Design Department at the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo, and teaches several core courses at the Academy. Multiply awarded for his work, he is a graphic designer and founder/owner of the famed design, production and marketing agency Fabrika, known for its successful collaborations with many of the region’s biggest companies, as well as its most relevant TV, film and theatre directors. He is also one of the founders of the acclaimed design group Trio Sarajevo, known for over 50 projects that include some of the most recognizable images of former Yugoslavia: cult status film posters and record covers, along with numerous design projects for festivals and within publishing (book covers, newspapers and other). During the siege of Sarajevo, the Trio designed a serial of propaganda posters under the title “The Aggression Against Bosnia”, today considered an important part of the country’s modern art heritage, and receiving wide international coverage and acclaim. The group has been awarded, among others, by Saatchi&Saatchi.
